Familiar Faces and New Talent Audition for Inaugural Production
Monday, August 31, 2009 - Rabbit Hole opens on Thursday, October 15th at the new Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace. And if the first night of auditions is any indication as to how well this new facility will draw in the local theater crowd, the new Playhouse is going to be a huge success.
More than 25 people were in attendance on Sunday night, August 30th as Carmel Community Players held its first theater-related event in its new home which is still undergoing its transformation from a former scrapbooking store into a bonified live theater venue.
Vickie Cornelius-Phipps, John Kastner, Devin Smith, Brenna Campbell and Glenn Dobbs were among some the CCP veterans auditioning for director Ken Klingenmeir. And there were a lot of new faces, too.
"It's great to see new people from Carmel as well as actors from other communities showing up tonight," said CCP president Michael Long.
CCP marketing director, Brian Koning added, "We've had a lot of interest the past week or so with people stopping by, reading our information in the windows and peeking in. We probably had more people actually stop by here this past Saturday than walked by our old facility in a year. The traffic is really going to help with exposure."
Auditions continue on Monday, August 31st at 7:00.
